Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo and the Essex County Board of Commissioners, together with the Office of Public Health Management, are proud to launch Health is the Goal: Summer 2026 – A Summer of Celebration of Sport and Culture, an initiative focused on keeping Essex County healthy during the busy summer festival season. We are excited for the summer season as the diversity of our communities is celebrated, and the Office of Public Health Management works to keep residents safe and informed through awareness, education, updates, and guidance. In partnership with all 22 municipalities and their local health departments, and alongside our First Responders and hospital partners, we are working to ensure residents have access to clear, timely health information and resources, whether at large community events or in everyday life. Our efforts prioritize emergency preparedness and public health coordination across the community.

This summer, we are focused on making sure everyone has what they need to stay safe, especially while attending events that celebrate sports and culture and during periods of high temperatures. Together, we can create a safe and enjoyable environment for every resident, family, player, and fan. Let’s continue putting Essex County’s health first.
