NJLINCS
New Jersey Local Information Network and Communications Systems (NJ LINCS) is a statewide partnership initiative that brings the state health department, local health departments, and community organizations together to protect the public’s health. The Essex County Office of Public Health Management is one of twenty-two agencies which participate in the surveillance and identification of health problems, and the rapid containment of incidents that threaten the health of the public.
ECOPHM has established an email emergency notification system, the Health Alert Network, to provide emergency information throughout the county. Examples of the information we receive and distribute range from food recalls and communicable disease outbreaks to alerts from NJ state and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The Health Alert Network, the email emergency notification, is available to businesses, laboratories, community organizations, local/county government, schools/educational institutes, health care providers, domestic/wildlife animal care takers, hospitals/acute care, law enforcement and emergency agencies.
