Public Health Messaging

The Essex County Office of Public Health Management is one of the twenty-two NJLINCS agencies which participate in the surveillance and identification of health problems, and the rapid containment of incidents that threaten the health of the public.

Essex County Office of Public Health Management in partnership with New Jersey Department of Health facilitate the New Jersey Local Information Network and Communications System (NJLINCS). Through this system there is a distribution and exchange of public health information between the State and local partners via the Public Health Emergency Notification System (NJLINCS Health Alert Network). By being added to this Community Health Alert Network/contact list- you will receive emails as information is distributed. This includes information from the state Department of Health, local health departments, and CDC: alerts, updates, and advisories. Examples such as food recalls, rising cases, communicable diseases outbreaks, trainings, updates, etc.

The Essex County Office of Public Health Management is expanding its Community Health Alert & Information Network contact list. By doing so, we want to ensure our community is informed, updated, and healthy! If you are interested in joining and receiving these messages, please fill out the form below.

Eligible contacts: local businesses, laboratories, pharmacies, community organizations, local/county government, schools/educational institutes, health care providers, public health nurses, health educators, epidemiologists, REHS, health officers/directors, domestic/wildlife animal veterinarians, hospitals/acute care, FQHC, EMS, Infection control, law enforcement/emergency agencies, local media, transportation, and any other relating fields are invited to join.
